The Museum of Glass Tacoma, Washington

Yesterday we joined two other families to attend the Glass Museum. Every month they have a free evening from 5-8pm. We drove downtown Tacoma and parked at the free parking garage and took the free train to the museum. (If you can't tell by now I like free:) The train actually stops in front of several museums. This day we were only there to see the Glass Museum. This was our first trip and really fun and amazing. I have so many pictures it will take two days to show and tell about the trip.

The cone shaped building is the museum. The wonder actually begins when you cross the bridge heading toward the museum. There are two columns with chunks of colored glass to greet you and then you walk across the bridge.
The roof of the bridge contains all kinds of beautiful glass as well as walls with glass pieces. There are also several fountains around the museum with glass birds and other wonderful things. There are some tubes with water running down them too. And all of that before we got into the main museum. The kids had a great time!

You can check out the museum online by going to www.museumofglass.org. You will have to paste this into your window as I am just learning how to make clickable links and still haven't gotten the hang of it. I did get the one fixed about Gabriel's bike trip. I know several tried it and had trouble. At the museum website they have actual live glass making on video as it is happening. It was quite amazing and I will show some more pictures later.

Remember to enjoy today because it is what you do have to work with!

This has been on my list of things to do for a long time. I need to come down and stay for a few days and do all of the Southend things I want to do!
