Sarah is Baking!

My soon to be 12 year old daughter has been baking for the last few days. We are all enjoying the benefits! This was a wonderful addition to our dinner last night and I thought I would share the recipe.

Peppery Cheese Bread

1 pkg. yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3 cups flour (2 whole wheat and 1 white)
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coarse pepper
1/2 cup warm milk
2 Tablespoons melted butter or margarine
1 large egg
2/3 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated

Combine the yeast and the water in small bowl until dissolved. Mix the next 4 ingredients. Combine the milk, eggs, butter and mix well. Add the yeast mixture and the milk mixture to the dry ingredients until the dough forms a ball. Knead a few times until smooth about 1 minute. Place dough in a warm buttered bowl turning to coat the top. Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Knead down and form into a loaf (we did ours round). Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Preheat oven during the last few minutes of the rising time to 350. Bake 30-35 minutes. Remove the bread to a wire rack to cool.

I hope you like it:)

I wish I had more time to do stuff like that.

I wish I'd paid more attention when my mom was teaching me how to cook. My dh would've appreciated it also. LOL Have a blessed week!
