Mt. Rainier Snow Trip

On Saturday our whole family went on the Annual Snow Trip to Mt. Rainier. There was about 40 of us. There were 2 vans, the cheese wagon ( a small bus), and a couple of cars. We got to see the new visitor center which was a nice and cozy respite. They have a restaurant, gift shop, ranger stations, exhibits about the history and a video to tell the story of Mt. Rainier and of course restrooms!

It was a lot of fun. My kids even wore their shoes - I didn't ask about the underwear though, Wow! I finally got to snow shoe even though there are no pictures, I have witnesses. We all had a great time.

We had our kitchen set up on the parking lot and shielded on 3 sides by vehicles to keep us sheltered a little. Marilyn was an expert in providing a hot lunch away from home. We had chili and hot dogs complete with onions and cheese. Cookies, brownies, carrots, and peas. We also had the traditional hot Tang and hot chocolate, and hot tea to drink. Mrs. Betty treated us to Coke from Mexico with no high fructose corn syrup. It is sweetened with pure cane sugar. Interesting.

It was a beautiful day. Next time I hope to actually go on the tubes.

The photos are compliments of Joanna Fitzsimmons. Thanks Joanna! My camera disappeared with the kids and took no pictures:( They were too busy having fun in the snow:)
