What Have I Been Doing?

I have been away from Redding Mountain for several weeks now. I am experiencing a totally different life from what I have on Redding Mountain. I have been staying in my parents spare house in Hendersonville, Tn. with my husband and 7 children. There are some things I really like about being in the city and in the Nashville area and then there are other things.....

First the things I like:

I get to be with my husband who is working in Nashville!!

I get to see my parents and my brother and his family a lot more often.

I get to see my adult children much more often. And of course my sweet little grand-daughter Anya:)and her mama. We all got to be together on Father's Day. It was wonderful to have Isaac home. We do not get to see him very much (he's in the Marines stationed at 29 Palms, Ca.

Being in Hendersonville gives me great opportunities to shop a surplus of thrift stores and yard sales which I cannot pass up:) I have found some wonderful books and I am busy reading and having my children read some great ones and some fun ones. My greatest find (actually Daniel found it for me) The Lost Princess by George MacDonald, my favorite author!!! I never even knew this one existed. For some other books I have to get rid of see my other blog http://www.reddingmountainbooks.blogspot.com/ or check out my ebay auctions lredding is my seller name.

The challenge is having the world on my doorstep. I have never seen so many unattended children! I decided that I must plan their day or they would plan my day. Last week I put them to work pulling nails and stacking wood, when they showed up but there is only so much work to go around. This week I had them in to play board games when it rained. I taught them to make bread, which they liked. They had never tasted homemade bread before. I do not think they have ever played board games either. They watched me sew and I am pretty sure that was new for them too! They are available from 11 am until 11 pm for my enjoyment. I sure miss Redding Mountain and its seclusion at times.

We all miss our pawpaw and mawmaw when we are away. We miss our friends too!:(

We really miss our library in St. Albans, West Virginia and the summer reading program.

So this is just a tiny bit of what we've been doing.....more next time about the upcoming wedding and new grandbaby:)
