Thanksgiving

I have been a little negligent of my blog. I found this draft saved from Thanksgiving day. Even though I really didn't finish it and post it at Thanksgiving I wanted to share this anyway. Every day can be Thanksgiving day for the Christian.

How thankful I am to be a Christian. To belong to Christ. To have a family who love and honor Christ and children growing up with God in their lives and scriptures on their lips. God is good!

Last night we had a Thanksgiving Fellowship at church. Dennis organized it and several of the men shared songs, scriptures, and prayers. Dennis talked about how our barometer is our thankfulness. It was a nice thoughtful evening.

Thanksgiving was a calm day. Some of the preparation had been done early in the week. We finished our meal preparations easily and had our dinner around 3 pm. We had the traditional turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberries and of course Mawmaw's jello salad and three bean salad. We had plenty of food even though we forgot the brussel sprouts and broccoli:)

We saved dessert for the evening. We invited several friends to come over and sing praises to our Father in Heaven and eat dessert. It was a good evening.
